Finance Reporting Accountant

This individual will deliver accurate budgeting and reporting data to our stakeholders and business partners, so they can make effective business decisions. This role will require some flexibility during the monthly close period to support the business.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for accounting, reporting, and forecast/budgeting. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills and is comfortable connecting with our stakeholders, business partners and Razor team members to help maintain a strong relationship and proactive communication within our teams.

Key Responsibilities

Broadly, a Finance Reporting Analyst is responsible for the following:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Create and/or Refresh financial reports for business partners
    • Prepare and refresh reports to review with controller during close/budget/forecast
    • Month End Variance Commentary – variance is described as the difference between what was budgeted or forecasted to the actuals we are seeing in the reporting.
  • Financial Analysis
    • Research variances on Profit & Loss Statements
    • Incentive Compensation Analysis to determine monthly accrual amounts
    • Employee Receivable and Payroll Analysis
    • Cost drivers
    • Determine costs coded incorrectly
    • Work with HR to determine when expenses hit Profit & Loss Statement
  • Forecast: Analyze data to determine forecast numbers, load forecast into tools, verify accuracy
  • Budget: load tax rates, analyze data to determine budget numbers, load budget into tools, verify accuracy
  • Restatements: work with controller to determine budget to actual restatements, verify accuracy
  • Meetings with controller and business partners as needed
  • Assist Business Partners via email communication
  • Under/Over Accrual tracking for year-end accruals
  • Compliance Audit reporting
  • Reconciliations, GL
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Journal Entries – Accruals / Reclass
  • Internal Order Maintenance (Create, Update, Close)
  • PO Management including sending open PO report, follow up on aged PO’s, working with owners to close PO’s
  • Meet quality metrics and deadlines
  • Adhere to Microsoft Accounting Policies (MAP), Generally accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX); participate in audits as appropriate

Key Qualifications

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant Finance, Reporting, or Accounting work experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of excel
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Experience working in a large corporate environment with a dynamic atmosphere
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to various systems and tools
  • Ability to operate within and meet or exceed tight deadlines while being flexible with duties and scope of work
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically and manage execution
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
